Brief History of the Dunoon Branch
The Branch was formed in 1999 after an absence of some 30 years, how the original one closed is not known. The
members were given a probationary period of one year to ensure that they would be able to operate as an individual member
of the Regimental Family and was given full status on completion of the trail period.
Although not as strong in numbers as some other branches we have a solid foundation and through the years have played
a full part in the Regimental Association activities, with members travelling all over the country visiting other branches
and establishing a very strong bond with our sister Branch of Stirling who now make a twice annual visit to Dunoon.
We are also very active within the local community, assisting wherever we can with local groups and since our formation
have raised some £11,000 which has been distributed amongst deserving causes in and around Dunoon as well as the Erskine Hospital.
